Class Types

Private Art Lessons (In-Studio or Online)

  • These are one-on-one, personalized sessions held in my studio, tailored to fit your specific skill level and artistic goals. Lessons may focus on pencil drawing, painting, or career guidance in the arts. Private lessons include a quick vetting process to ensure each student is a great fit for the studio environment.

  • Private lessons offer flexible scheduling to fit your availability, with options to book single sessions or packages for ongoing development.

  • These lessons provide an intimate, pressure-free environment where you can learn at your own pace. Sessions begin with a 30-minute consultation to discuss your goals and any current projects.

  • Expect a highly focused, tailored experience dedicated to your growth as an artist. Sessions are 90 minutes and can cover specific techniques, personal projects, or career development.

  • Yes, online private lessons are available and can be set up using platforms like Zoom, Google Hangouts, or another suitable option. This flexibility allows you to learn from anywhere that’s convenient for you.

  • To schedule a phone consultation, please fill out the intake form here so we can arrange a call to discuss your goals and set up your first lesson.

In-Studio Private Art Workshops

  • These small-group workshops in my studio are intensive, hands-on sessions that concentrate on specific skills or projects. Each participant is carefully selected through a vetting process to ensure a positive and respectful environment.

  • Workshops are typically single-day or weekend sessions and follow a set schedule, allowing you to develop skills in a collaborative, focused setting without a long-term commitment.

  • The workshops provide a collaborative space where you’ll work alongside other artists, sharing insights and benefiting from guided instruction. Since these workshops are scheduled in advance they are offered at a lower rate than private lessons, but still maintain a small group size for focused learning.

  • A fun, interactive environment focused on skill-building and project completion. These workshops allow you to dive deeply into specific techniques with support from the instructor and peers.

Collaborative Workshops at Art Centers

  • These are group workshops held at local art centers, such as the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. Unlike my in-studio sessions, Collaborative Workshops don’t involve a personal vetting process, as they’re organized in partnership with the host venue.

  • Collaborative Workshops are ideal for beginners or anyone looking to develop foundational skills over time. The group setting provides a community experience, allowing you to learn alongside fellow artists.

  • Workshops vary from one-day events to multi-week courses, each following a structured curriculum designed to help you build skills progressively. Whenever a new workshop is scheduled, you’ll find a direct sign-up link here.

  • A structured, community-focused environment with a set curriculum. Class sizes may be larger than private sessions, so individual attention is limited, but you’ll benefit from the supportive group atmosphere and steady skill-building.
